What HandyQuran is

HandyQuran is a free, ad-free website offering a searchable guide of duas and salawat with translations, device-calculated prayer times, optional push notifications, and optional accounts with personal dua lists and a memorization tracker. There is no charge to use any part of the service, and we do not sell your data.

Acceptable use

Please use HandyQuran respectfully. You agree not to:

  • Scrape, bulk-download, or systematically harvest content from the site using automated tools without our permission
  • Attempt to disrupt, overload, or gain unauthorised access to our systems or accounts
  • Use the service for any unlawful purpose, or to harass or harm others
  • Misrepresent your identity when creating an account, or use the account of another person without consent
  • Republish or redistribute our content in ways that violate the licenses described on our Licenses page

We may suspend or terminate access for accounts that violate these terms.

Content accuracy

We take care in reviewing the religious content on HandyQuran (duas, salawat, translations, and hadith references), but it is provided for general guidance and educational purposes. It is not a substitute for the advice of qualified scholars. For matters of religious ruling (fiqh), please consult a qualified scholar or your local institution.

Prayer times shown are calculated estimates based on standard astronomical formulas and the location you provide. They may differ slightly from your local masjid's schedule due to calculation method, elevation, or local convention. Always verify prayer times with your local masjid, especially for Fajr and Isha.

Intellectual property

  • HandyQuran's own content — our original translations, explanations, and commentary — is © HandyQuran and licensed under Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 (CC BY-NC-SA 4.0). You may reuse it for personal and educational purposes with attribution, under the same license, and not for commercial purposes.
  • Quranic text is sourced from Tanzil.net and used under the Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 license.
  • Hadith texts are in the public domain; where we reference a hadith, we link to the original source on sunnah.com.
  • The HandyQuran name, logo, and site design remain our property and may not be used without permission.

Accounts

Accounts are optional and free. You are responsible for keeping your sign-in method (email access, Google, or Apple account) secure. You may delete your account at any time from settings; see our Privacy Policy for what happens to your data when you do.

We may suspend or terminate an account that violates these terms, misuses the service, or poses a security risk, with notice where reasonably possible.

No warranty and limitation of liability

HandyQuran is provided "as is," free of charge, on a best-effort basis. We do not guarantee the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or perfectly accurate, including for prayer times or religious content. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of, or inability to use, the service — including missed prayers due to notification delays or calculation differences. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot legally be limited.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We will update the "Last updated" date above, and continued use of the service after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of [Country], without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
